First, know that what you see on television (save perhaps the Karate Kid) is a far cry from what real martial arts are all about. The fact is, martial arts training is based on non-violence.Originating in Asia (mainly Japan, China and Korea, although Thailand and Vietnam have their own practices as well), martial arts range from a variety of types and styles, all of which are based on well-rounded, moral teachings. The beauty of learning martial arts is that it encompasses not just the physical aspect of the "sport", but mental and emotional lessons as well.

Born into the world of martial arts, Sensei John has dedicated himself to the art from the age of three. Training under his father Master John Laracuente, he earned his black belt. His many years of hard training and dedication gave him a different outlook on the world of martial arts than many of those his age. Having taught across New York, Sensei John currently has 6 programs across New York City, both private and public after school programs. He enjoys working with kids and his main goal is for all of them to one day have the same love for the art as he does. He currently trains under NASKA and multiple time world champion Master Jao Burgos. Sensei John is currently training and competing alongside with his advanced students.
Please be on time! Arrive 15 minutes before your class begins.
